Web Design Review Assignment

You may work in groups to complete this assignment (I will allow you to determine the size of the group) or you may work alone (although it helps to bounce ideas off of others).  Please provide your review as a Microsoft Word document and submit the document (1 per group -- just be sure everyone's name is included) to me via e-mail at astanton@radford.edu.  This assignment is worth 25 points and is due no later than the beginning of class on Tuesday, February 10th.

Assignment

The Humane Society of Montgomery County (HSMC) is a no-kill animal shelter located in Christiansburg, Virginia.  Like many non-profit organizations, they operate on a limited budget and do not have the time, expertise or resources to do the amount of marketing necessary to help promote the shelter.  Currently, the HSMC has a web site that was created and is maintained by volunteers.  The web site is located at: http://www.hsmcshelter.com/. The President of the group's board of directors has asked for our help in suggesting changes to the web site.  Your job is to provide a list of problems with the web site.  If the problem is specific to a certain page on the web site be sure to identify the page on the site you are referring to.  You must be specific.  For example, don't just say the color scheme used on the site is unattractive -- tell me what is specifically wrong with it.  Here is an example of what I am looking for:

Problem:  The font style used for the body text is a serif font which is not always the easiest to read online.
