Marketing Research Report Oral Presentation Guideline
Each group will present their key findings. This presentation will be "board room" style as you will present the results to me in a conference room as opposed to presenting them to the entire class.
Each group should present for a minimum of 10 minutes -- no presentation should last longer than 15 minutes as there needs to be time at the end for questions -- this means you should practice and time what you plan to present. The group will be penalized for a presentation that is either too short or too long.
Attendance at the date and time assigned is MANDATORY for all team members.
The group needs to decide what it believes are the most important things to present -- you will not likely have time to present everything you learn.
The style and format of the presentation is up to the team. You may have one person present, some members present or all members present. Don't forget this is competitive. Just remember that ALL group members needs to be prepared to answer questions (whether presenting or not). Powerpoints are NOT required -- again, this is entirely up the group. If you do not use Powerpoint or other visual aids, however, I strongly recommend providing me with a printed outline of your presentation so that I have something to follow.
If you do plan to use a Powerpoint or any visual aid that needs to be displayed electronically, you need to provide it to me electronically (either by emailing it to me or bringing by the office on a CD/key/etc. no later than 8:00 a.m. on the day of your presentation. I will need this in advance so I can have each presentation ready to go as there will be no time in between presentations for teams to access their H drives, emails, etc.
You have two options for presentation dress -- either business casual or professional dress. The group needs to decide on which approach it prefers and ALL team members should dress accordingly.
You should NOT read your presentation. If you need some brief notes to remind you of topics to cover, that is fine. However, the group will be penalized for reading from cards, papers, the screen, etc. You should know your material well enough without having to read it. Remember, you are presenting to me alone so we can have more of a conversation than the formal dialogues you may be more familiar with from other classes.
